Creation and management of promotional codes

Promo codes are an effective tool for attracting customers and increasing sales. In ecom.md you can create different types of promotional codes.

Creating a promotional code

Go to Marketing → Promo Codes and click Add.

Basic parameters

  • Code - text entered by the buyer (for example, SALE20, NEWYEAR)
  • Discount type - percentage of the amount or fixed amount
  • Discount amount - percentage (5%, 10%, 20%) or amount (50 MDL, 100 MDL)

Conditions of use

  • Minimum order amount - the promo code only works for orders over the specified amount
  • Maximum discount amount—limit the size of the discount (important for percentage discounts)
  • Number of uses—how many times the code can be used (total and per client)

Validity period

  • Start date – when the promo code starts working
  • End date – when the promo code ceases to be valid

Application to goods

  • Entire catalog - discount on all products
  • Certain categories - discount only for selected categories
  • Specific products - discount on specified products

Groups of promo codes

For mass mailings, use groups of promo codes - generation of many unique codes with the same conditions.

Go to Marketing → Promo Code Groups:

  1. Specify a code pattern (for example, SALE-XXXX)
  2. Specify the number of codes
  3. Set up the conditions (as for a regular promo code)
  4. Generate and export a list of codes

Statistics

Statistics are available for each promotional code:

  • Number of uses
  • Total amount of discounts
  • Average check with promo code
