What is this?
This functionality allows you to book the quantity of goods that the client ordered, in order to prevent several users from ordering more than what is available.
What is this for?
For example, a user placed an order and ordered 10 units of one product. Initially, there were 100 units in stock, 10 are included in the reservation, and there are already 90 in stock.
If the client starts updating the stock through any parsers or external APIs, then this update will take into account the fact that we have reserved goods.
For example: wants to update and fill in that there are already 200 units of this product in the warehouse. In fact, 200 units will be uploaded to the admin - 10 units that hang in the armor, and 190 units will be shown on the site.
How does it connect and how does it work?
In the admin, in Global settings -> Advanced, there is a checkbox to enable this function: **Enable inventory reservation.
Below there is a setting for the number of days to reserve a product/order.
When a user places an order, the stock of the goods that he has added, as usual, decreases and the order with the goods is included in the booking.
The reservation lasts for as long as indicated in the admin panel.
If the period expires, the reservation is deleted.
The reservation can be viewed in the Inventory Reservations module.
