How to add a Product Category?

To add a product category on the site, you need to open the admin panel and perform the following steps:

1. Find the Product Categories page (in the Catalog section), go to it and a page will open with the entire list of existing categories.

2. To add a new category, click on “+Add Product Categories” (in the upper right corner)

3. A page will open with several tabs, each of which contains specific fields for category data that are required to be filled out.

The first tab is GENERAL. Below is a list of rubrics and their meaning:

1. Category - If we want to create a Category, do not fill it out.
   We indicate only if we want to create a SUB-CATEGORY (example: Category - Phones, indicate the name - Apple Phones).

2. Position - is responsible for the order in which categories are displayed in the list; filled with numbers from 1 to infinity; The categories will be displayed in the menu according to the specified order.

3. Name - The name of the category in the site languages.

4. Link - category URL; can be filled in manually or will be filled in automatically based on the category name ; may contain Latin letters, numbers, dashes or underscores; cannot contain space between characters.
   *We recommend that you do not fill out this field; it will be filled in automatically.

5. Hide - check if you want to hide the category from the site

6. Icon - the icon is displayed in the menu.

7. 1. Promo image - displayed in the catalog, can be used for categories, subcategories, etc. Example below:

8. Category Banner - displayed on the category page. Example below:

9. Category banner in the menu - the banner that is displayed in the menu on the right.

10. Description - Description for the category in the site languages.
11. Description - You need to choose where the description for the category will be displayed: above the products or below the products.

The second tab is **META FIELDS**(OPTIONAL). Below is a list of rubrics and their meaning:

1. SEO description - fills in the page description for the Description meta tag for indexing, in the site’s languages.

2. Meta title - fills in the Title meta tag for proper indexing of the page in the site’s languages.

3. SEO keywords - keywords are added to fill the Keywords meta tag for indexing pages in the site’s languages.

The third tab is **PRODUCT CATEGORIES** - in this tab you can create subcategories of products. The list of headings and their meaning is similar to those described above. Files:
