In the admin you can create all the necessary values for product characteristics. Limit on quantity, name - no.
Characteristic values are added universally for the entire site, which means that the same value can be re-used for any product characteristic, without the need to create multiple identical ones.
The value is not tied to characteristics, which allows you to use one value for different characteristics for each product.
You can create a value for characteristics in the admin from 2 different places:
- directly from the main page - module "Characteristic values"
- from the product page itself
Principle of creating value characteristics
If you want to start by adding the entire list of unique values so that you can simply attach them to product characteristics, you can use the “Characteristic Values” module on the main admin page. By opening this module, you can view the entire list of existing values.
In the upper right corner there is a button: "+ Add Value Characteristics" - click it
Information fields for filling out appear
- Value Characteristics: the name of the value itself; filled in for each site language
- Type Characteristics: you can select one type from the list; will affect the display of characteristics in category filters (still in progress)
After filling in all the fields, save the new value below on the page. Now, this value has appeared in the general list, and you can also add it to the product itself.

Creating a value at the product level
During the process of adding a product, it is also possible to create new values for characteristics directly from the product page, without having to go out, create a value and return to the product to select.
To create a value from a product page, you need to implement the following steps:
- open the desired product to which you need to add a new characteristic and value
- go to the tab "Product characteristics"
- fill out the “Characteristics” field by selecting the required characteristic from the list
- below there is a field "Value Characteristics": it allows you to select existing values from the list
- to the right of this field there is a button with “+”: click to create a new value
- the same fields open as in the previous scenario
- fill in all the required fields and save
- new value is automatically added to this product
- We save the product change below on the page.
